Clarinets

To attain the sweet, resonant sound that clarinets are famous for, these instruments require pads that seal completely and a mechanism that works flawlessly.  Proper key height can support your technique and is critical for even tone quality across the instrument's range as well as individual note intonation.  Proper lubrication insures quiet function.  To prevent cracking, wooden instruments may require periodic oiling of the bore, especially in our dry, winter climate.  If necessary, cracks can be repaired.  This is a common repair for wooden instruments, but should only be done by a repairman with significant experience.
