Professional and Student Instruments
Highest Quality Professional Work
You work hard and your instrument should work perfectly, play effortlessly and respond beautifully as you push yourself to be your best.
The very best, most cost effective Student Repairs
Every student deserves an instrument that works properly and serves them well as they learn to play. Students of all ages and levels will progress more quickly and have more fun with an instrument that plays well.
When I work with professional musicians and hard working, serious semi-pros, I strive to hear the words....
"This is the best my instrument has ever played. I love it !"
Like other instruments, saxes are finicky beasts. Small adjustments can make big differences in playability.....affecting technique, tone and the enjoyment you're after in playing this instrument in the first place!
I have found over the years that I can often find problems that have gone unnoticed (sometimes for years), refine adjustments and make tweaks that make a real difference for my customers.
My simple offer.......
If you would like, I will work with you to ensure that your sax plays better than it has ever played for you.
Let me know if you would like to discuss this.
The dip in this Eb tone hole on this Mark IV tenor is an original defect from the factory. Even though this caused a leak in this pad, which made it difficult to play below E, this defect went unnoticed for 40 years. This was missed even during a complete repad.
When pads have this much "gunk" built up on them, things are out of control. The pad surface has become hard and the dirt and junk interferes with the pad seats, causing all of these pads to leak.
These pads are from a professional's tenor. Often pros just don't feel they have the time to take their horns to the shop and let the work go so long that major work is required to make the instrument play well.
I'm happy to take a look at your horn at no charge to give you a clear idea of the condition and discuss exactly what can be done to make it play better.
